A Ton of Anime News Landed Over the Festive Season

The Yuletide season present a multitude of activities far superior than catching up on the updates: opening presents, feasting on delicious food, and using meditation skills to not snapping at loved ones. It is wished you were able to accomplish all these things and more. Nevertheless, the entertainment world doesn't go on vacation, and this is particularly true for the realm of anime. Many exciting news items surfaced during the break, and should you overlooked any, here is a summary of the most exciting bits.

One-Punch Man Its Third Season Will Continue (In 2027)

Without a doubt the biggest announcement, the much-discussed disaster that was the third season of One-Punch Man failed to deter the series' continuation. The show will be back with a subsequent part in 2027—so far away they easily could have called it season 4. More surprisingly, the studio J.C. Staff will still be in charge. At least this time, helmer Shinpei Nagai is on board to direct from the start, which might be a positive development. But, the key visual for the second cour is identical to the one used for season 3, just with protagonists Saitama and Garou oriented differently. This suggests that, at this point, they must be trolling the fans.

Ruri Dragon Is Poised to Be the First Shonen Jump Anime From Kyoto Animation

Kyoto Animation has built a standing for being an top-tier animation studio, distinguishing itself not just for the superb artistry of its work but for the ethical practices of its employees—a rarity in the industry. Surprisingly, until now, it had not adapted an anime adapted from a manga serialized in Shonen Jump, possibly the best-known magazine in the industry. Ruri Dragon will end that streak, and what a great choice it is. The manga by Masaoki Shindo gained a huge following when it launched in 2022 after just a few chapters, but then went into a two-year hiatus due to the author's health issues. When it resumed publication with a reduced workload, the series proved it still retained the fans' support and enthusiasm, and now the community is ecstatic about the upcoming KyoAni adaptation.

The Kingdom Series Season 6 Is Getting a Follow-Up Now in the Works

Kingdom is the top-selling, long-running Shueisha manga that is aside from One Piece. If you've are unfamiliar with it before, it's because it only just received an English release, but the anime has been going on for years, and its sixth season was another excellent entry. It turns out that was just the initial batch, because a "sequel" has been confirmed as in development, and it will very likely air in 2026.

Science Saru Is Bringing A Witch in Mongolia To Anime

Another studio famous for the superior craftsmanship of its work, Science Saru has given us critically acclaimed works of the ilk of Space Dandy, Devilman Crybaby, and, most recently, Dandadan. This time, the studio will be producing the adaptation of Tomato Soup's manga A Witch's Life in Mongol, which is based on the actual historical person of Fatima, an powerful woman and thinker in the Mongol Empire in the 13th century. Judging from the trailer, the anime called Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia will have a highly unique and fascinating visual style, which is somewhat reminiscent of Ranking of Kings. Debuting in July 2026, this one will without a doubt be on my watchlist.

The Tougen Anki Series Will Continue With a Season Two

Shortly after the release of episode 24, it was announced that Tougen Anki will be getting a follow-up. Inspired by the Japanese legend of Momotaro, Tougen Anki adapts the manga by Yura Urushibara. The upcoming season of the anime will adapt the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc, but a concrete premiere date has yet to be revealed.
