Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday evening. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge follows the boxing community had expressed condolences for the star in the wake of the terrible crash.
