Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Golden Joystick Ceremony
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and with a remarkable performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the most decorated winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the prestigious Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Complementing the studio's achievements, its skilled actors also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Top Studio. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved seven awards throughout the event.
Other major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only four categories—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamer Selection—judged by experts.
